Lulu (14) moves to a small town, Broby, with her mother and younger brother. Soon, strange incidences occur. One night, her brother is struck by a beam of white light ? actually the spirit of Herman Hartmann from the 19th-century. To her despair, Lulu realizes that Herman has possessed her brother, but after a time the two of them are whirled into a fevered adventure. Joined by Oliver, a rich kid, and Richard, a disillusioned clairvoyant and inventor, they take on the dark, supernatural forces gathering over Broby ? evil from deep in the land of the dead, determined to see them die.

Cecilie and her husband Mads move to a house in the country. Having been on extended sick leave, she now gets a job as a substitute teacher at the local school. Soon, unexplainable things start happening at home and at school. Somebody is trying to contact Cecilie and it is affecting her mind. Cecilie must return to past mysteries, which draw eerie traces to her present as well as to a confrontation she has always feared.
