19.30 = SAMAURAI COP, 1991, 96 min., d: Amir Shervan / This movie has it all: Japanese/Mexican Crime Lord with Mullet? Check. Guy who dies 4 different times because they didn't know enough people who wanted to be in this movie? Check. Random nurse scene with even more random clips of black partner's facial responses to nurse's comments about size of samurai cop's "sword"? Yes, that too is in it. Basically, if you ever saw a terrifically bad movie, and liked it, you must see THIS! It gives you what you really want: Boobs, Racial Comments, Excessive Groping of Handgun by a Lacky, Fight scene with obvious continuity issues, Pimp Van in fast motion chase scene, Disturbingly Effeminate Waiter, 4 different samurai wigs, Matt Hannon acting, and too many other priceless moments to recount.

Sørme om ikke Husets Biograf viser mit norske 16mm-print af RED HEAT i denne måned. Desværre mangler der en del i sex/volds-scenerne, men ikke desto mindre er det en skøn film med et fedt soundtrack af Tangerine Dream, så meget passende bliver den vist i serien Soundtrack Sundays.

Den 22. + 23. november er der zombie-festival i Husets Biograf. Re-Animator på 35mm, Night of the Living Dead på 16mm + en ny dokumentar, som kører begge dage.

The film that started it all holds up as a stark, eerie and unrelenting parable of dread. Shot on a low budget with grainy film stock and a mostly amateur cast and crew, there's a no-frills approach to the material. The frequently handheld camerawork lends it a sense of immediacy and tension right from the start, when a brother and sister are visiting their mother's grave and, after he teases her by chanting, "They're coming to get you, Barbara!" his joke comes true when a roving, flesh-eating zombie promptly dispatches him and chases her to an abandoned farmhouse.

FILIPINO EXPLOITATION TRIPLE-FEATURE
Faces In The Dark vender tilbage med et efterårsshow, inden det går løs med hovedfestivalen i slutningen af januar '16.
Lørdag den 3. oktober blænder vi op for en Filipino aften:

18:30 = MACHETE MAIDENS UNLEASHED, 84 min, directed by Director: Mark Hartley, 2010, format: digital / Karate-kicking midgets! Paper-mache monsters! Busty babes with blades! Filipino genre films of the '70s and '80s had it all. Boasting cheap labour, exotic scenery and non-existent health and safety regulations, the Philippines was a dreamland for exploitation filmmakers whose renegade productions were soon engulfing drive-in screens around the globe like a tidal schlock-wave! .. features interviews with cult movie icons Roger Corman, Joe Dante, John Landis, Sid Haig, Eddie Romero and a large assembly of cast, crew and critics, each with a jaw-dropping story to tell.

20:15 = THE BIG DOLL HOUSE: 1971, (35MM!!!) directed by Jack Hill, 95 min.,/ This women-in-tropical-prison exploitation drama constituted Pam Grier’s first starring role, but Kathryn Loder also turns in a great performances as the sadistic prison guard, and Sid Haig is as always appropriately sleazy. Perhaps the mostly influential of the Filipino exploitation films.

22:30 = WONDER WOMEN, 1973, (35MM!!!) directed by Robert Vincent O'Neill, 82 min. / a fantastic spy-centric 70's gem which takes the coolest aspects of the espionage genre from the mid sixties and mixes it all up into a ridiculously fun exploitation flick that often boggles the mind. Filled to the brim with sexy kung-fu women, dangerous thugs and exotic locations, the film goes out of its way to be outlandish. Shot in the Philippines and comprised of an international cast, "Wonder Women" is a lost gem which surprises at every turn, often taking the viewer into unfathomable situations that serve to entertain exponentially.

Kanon, Nils!!!

Nu er "lost" jo en definitionssag. Fred Olen Ray udgav en flot udgave af WONDER WOMEN på DVD for et par år siden, taget fra en 35mm-master, men den blev desværre trukket tilbage, da Bill Olsen gjorde indsigelser, fordi han også havde købt rettighederne og ville udgive den på Code REd. Helt i Bill Olsens ånd er der dog ikke blevet gjort noget ved udgivelsen endnu. Jeg var heldig og nåede at få fat på et ex inden den forsvandt. Jeg har den iø også på hollandsk VHS og DVD-R fra Something Weird Video (et mega-ridset print i fs). Vidste du iø, at man var begyndt at lave en sequel engang i 80'erne, men den blev aldrig færdig.
